Here’s a straightforward guide on how to get to Clermont-Ferrand: by car via the A71 or A75, by train, or by plane, and how to get around once you’re there. The hotel is located at 15 Rue de l’Éminée, in the La Pardieu neighborhood, south of Clermont-Ferrand.
It takes about 3 minutes from the A75 highway, 13 minutes on foot from La Pardieu train station, and 10 to 12 minutes by car from Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport.
All practical information is also available on our Access page

By car from the north: the A71
This route is for travelers coming from Paris, Orléans, Bourges, Montluçon, or Vichy. From Bordeaux and Limoges, the A89 joins the A71 north of Clermont-Ferrand; from there, follow the same route.
Here is the route:
- Take the A71 to Clermont-Ferrand. After the Gerzat toll plaza, pass Exit 16, “Le Brézet.”
- At the entrance to the metropolitan area, the A71 becomes the A75: continue straight ahead toward Montpellier / Issoire.
- Take Exit No. 1, “La Pardieu – Billom, ” the first exit on the A75.
- Follow Rue de l’Éminée to No. 15.
From Paris, the distance is about 420 km, and the drive takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes, assuming there is no heavy traffic. During rush hour, allow extra time as you approach the metropolitan area.
By car from the south and east: the A75
From Montpellier, Millau, Saint-Flour, or Issoire, the A75 takes you directly to GRAND MESS. It is toll-free along its entire length, with the exception of the Millau Viaduct.
As you approach Clermont-Ferrand, you’ll first see Exit No. 2, “Pérignat-lès-Sarliève”: don’t take it.
A few moments later, take Exit 1, “La Pardieu – Billom,” off the highway, then follow Rue de l’Éminée. Exit 2 comes before Exit 1 on this highway, which makes it easy to find your way.
From Lyon and Saint-Étienne, take the A89 and then the A711. This will take you to the Clermont-Ferrand highway interchange, where you’ll take the A75 southbound, Exit 1. The trip is about 170 km and 2 hours from Lyon, and about 300 km and 3 hours from Montpellier.
The government conducts annual maintenance work on the A75 and A711: check traffic conditions before you leave, especially during the vacation season.
No matter where you start, the exit is the same: No. 1.
