Ideally located close to major road links, the GRAND MESS Clermont-Ferrand hotel offers more than just design and conviviality. It also stands out for its commitment to the environment, reconciling modern comfort with respect for the planet.
RT 2012-compliant construction
Built in compliance with RT 2012 thermal regulations, GRAND MESS guarantees optimized energy performance. This standard imposes strict standards of reduced consumption, guaranteeing greater efficiency and optimal thermal comfort for our customers. Grand Mess wanted to go even further, by obtaining an E3 C- quality label (the Energy aspect (E+), which measures a building's ability to reduce consumption and integrate renewable energies, and the Carbon aspect (C-), which assesses its environmental impact throughout its life).

Sustainable materials: bio-sourced and local wood
The hotel features bio-sourced wood from local sustainably managed forests. This choice limits the carbon footprint linked to transport, supports regional players and enhances the value of Auvergne's natural resources. The result: warm, aesthetic spaces designed to last.
Innovation for energy: geothermal energy and heat recovery
To go even further, Grand Mess has integrated innovative technical solutions:
- Geothermal energy, which harnesses the earth's natural energy to maximize resource efficiency and reduce CO₂ emissions.
- A heat recovery system to reuse the energy produced by certain equipment, in particular to power cold production in cold rooms.
These intelligent devices reduce waste and enhance the facility's energy autonomy.
A sustainable hospitality model
Thanks to its eco-responsible construction, use of local and renewable materials, and innovative energy solutions, GRAND MESS Clermont-Ferrand is a model of sustainable hospitality.
It's the ideal address for travelers who want to combine comfort, design and respect for the environment, while staying in the heart of the Auvergne.
Our daily CSR commitment
The eco-responsibility of the Grand Mess doesn't stop with the construction of the hotel: it's a daily reality.
- Saving energy: 100% LED lighting, motion detectors, large openings to let in natural light, heat pumps, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
- Save water and limit pollution: rainwater recovery for watering and cleaning, reduced tap flow, and micro-filtered water available on site to limit plastic waste.
- Reduce and recycle waste: selective sorting in rooms, composting of food waste, elimination of individual packaging and pods, use of reusable cups and Ecopump (soap) to avoid single-use plastic.
- Buying responsibly: healthy, organic, local and seasonal cuisine, favoring short circuits and partnerships with regional producers.
- Human resources and inclusion: we promote diversity and equal opportunity in our recruitment, participate in initiatives such as DuoDay, and set up CSR training for our teams to anchor these values in our corporate culture.
In this way, every gesture - whether it concerns energy, water, food or team management - contributes to building a hotel that is deeply committed to a sustainable and humane approach.
